Product Overview
Compact Fuji XF lenses come no better than the Fujifilm XF 18mm f/2.0 pancake lens. At an equivalent 27mm focal length (35mm format) it delivers a 76.5-degree viewing angle, making it ideal for landscape, architectural and street photography. Lens build quality is excellent, the Fuji XF 18mm body being constructed mostly of metal on a metal mount. It s light too, weighing just 116 grams, and so is perfect if you need a highly portable lens for your photography work.
Performance
As with other Fuji XF lenses for the X-Pro1, X-E1, X-E2 and X-M1, the Fujifilm XF 18mm delivers beautifully sharp results across the lens. AF is quick and accurate, even when your subject is off-centre from your frame.
Lens construction is of 8 elements (2 aspherical) in 7 groups. To increase sharpness towards the edges of your frame Fujifilm have designed the lens in a way that ensures that the final lens element sits as close as possible to your camera s sensor. This reduces vignetting and also helps to eliminate image softness in the corners.
A feature of Fuji XF lenses is their dedicated aperture ring. The Fuji XF 18mm is no different; a smooth rotating ring with 1/3 steps enables you to take manual control in an instant should you decide to switch it out of the A automatic setting. Seven circular aperture blades combined with a minimum focusing distance of just 0.18m set the stage for you to take some spectacular bokeh with smooth blurred backgrounds.
